Carers Support Partnership Aspiration

Thanks to the DOH Carers Support Fund the Carers Support Partnership has come about after several years of ad-hoc carers support provided by 174 Trust Disability Projects to parent carers of children aged 5-19 years and young people with physical & learning disabilities availing of inclusive disability projects within 174 Trust programme portfolio and ReachOut Healthy Living Centre.

  1. Raise awareness- mindful of the time that it takes for people to recognise themselves as
    carers and access statutory and other supports. Use lived experience of family carers in North
    Belfast to inform and influence

2. Promote engagement in Carers Support Partnership North Belfast to support family carers of children
and young people with physical and learning disabilities access one to one support, peer support
group work such as Mindful Walks; Arts 4 Wellbeing; Self Care; Emotional Health & Wellbeing; Gender
Specific health programmes, Nutrition & physical activity

3.1.Acting as an interface between services and needs-finding and providing answers to difficult questions as part of the 1-1 casework /advocacy piece. Partner organisations will apply professionalism and proven
expertise to issues facing family carers, their children and the broader community in which they reside.
